In an example of a falsely balanced climate story, Justin Gillis of the New York Times went to one of the most media saavy denialists in "Rising Sea Levels Seen as Threat to Coastal U.S.." Myron Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute has amazing access to top media companies.
The NYT seems to be calling Ebell a "climate researcher" when it leads into his drivel with "The handful of climate researchers who question the scientific consensus about global warming do not deny that the ocean is rising. But they often assert that the rise is a result of natural climate variability, they dispute that the pace is likely to accelerate, and they say that society will be able to adjust to a continuing slow rise." Compare the Reuters' version which includes no such denialst mantra: "Floods spurred by rising seas threaten 5 million"
